Overnight flight from your home town in the USA to Vienna, Austria's International Airport. (We recommend that you possibly travel a day earlier and rest up before our tour, which departs on Thursday morning, December 3, 2009. We will gladly make air, pre and post reservations for you at a hotel in the inner city.

Day 1 Thursday, December 3, 2009
By mid-morning our tour will depart from Vienna's International Airport with our luxury coach. We will travel west on Austria's Autobahn for a short trip into the center of Vienna and have a guided coach and walking tour of this former Imperial City on the shores of the River Danube. Our tour includes the former palaces, Cathedral, Opera House, Parliament, Castle Schoenbrunn with its Christmas market and other important sites in Austria's capital. Afterwards we will stop for a typical light lunch before checking into our downtown hotel. Later we will have our welcome Party, dinner and overnight stay for the next 3 nights. Day 2 Friday, December 4, 2009
After a lavish breakfast buffet, your day is free for visiting the busy shopping boulevards in the city center as well as several of the Christmas markets including the most popular one at the Vienna City Hall. Have Coffee and Sacher torte at the world's most famous Sacher Pastry Shop before visiting one of the many music events in the city. For dinner on you own tonight we suggest "discovering" a tavern featuring local music and wine. Overnight stay in our Vienna hotel. B

Day 3 Saturday, December 5, 2009
Today we will leave for an all day trip into Slovakia and visit its Christmas Market in the capital city of Bratislava. The city is full of quaint stalls with Slovakian craft products from the region including the famous hand painted egg ornaments. Definitely try the Slovakian food specialties including grilled sausages, goose liver with pancakes and hot mulled wine to keep you warm on a cold December day. Late afternoon we will return to Vienna. This evening dinner is on your own and you may want to enjoy a concert or wander along the festively decorated shopping streets in the Inner city. B

Day 4 Sunday, December 6, 2009
After our fine morning breakfast buffet we will travel west on the Austrian Autobahn and arrive the historic Upper Austrian city of Steyr around noon. Within walking distance of the Christmas Market in the main square of the city and along the river promenade is an outstanding handicraft market, an exhibition at the Lamberg castle overlooking the city and a historic Christmas museum that no one should miss.
By mid afternoon we will leave for our next destination, the city of Klagenfurt in the Southern province of Carinthia. Dinner in town and 2 nights stay at Hotel Sandwirth. www.sandwirth.at BD

Day 5 Monday, December 7, 2009
After breakfast we will leave for our day trip through the mountains of Slovenia and on to the Holiday resort City of Bled. Here you may take a gondola ride on the crystal clear lake to an enchanting island in the center with the famous "Maria" chapel. Back in town visit a typical Slovenian Christmas market. We may also visit the medieval Bled castle overlooking the town and country side. If time permits, we will return via the city of Villach in Carinthia to enjoy its Christmas market in the evening and perhaps have an optional dinner there. Later we will return to Klagenfurt for overnight. B

Day 6 Tuesday, December 8, 2009
This morning we will leave Carinthia and travel South to visit Slovenia's charming capital of Lubijana. Its Christmas market is located along the river bank on cobblestoned streets. This is a great opportunity for more shopping where prices are quite a bit lower than in other European cities. Ljubljana Castle is perched overlooking the town and can be visited via a cliff side funicular. Mid afternoon we will travel on and finish our day at the provincial city of Styria, Graz in Southern Austria, birthplace of California's governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. Day 7 Wednesday, December 9, 2009
Today is a free day for exploring on your own the the city of Graz. Enjoy the historic inner town with its famous courtyard fountains and Austria's most famous medieval armory museum. After visiting the local Christmas market and tasting hot mulled Gluehwine, perhaps have dinner on your own in one of the many unique local taverns. Overnight in our Graz hotel. B

Day 8 Thursday, December 10, 2009
After breakfast we will journey in the morning toward the Eastern part of Austria with a stop at the medieval castle of Kornberg. A fabulous Christmas market is located in the lower section of the castle offering outstanding local handicrafts and hand painted ornaments for its visitors. Travelling onward through the hillsides of Southern Austria we will arrive in Austria's most eastern province of Burgenland (land of many castles). In Eisenstadt, the provincial capital city with a Hungarian flair, we will visit the last Christmas market on our journey before having our farewell dinner at a local restaurant. Overnight at Hotel Burgenland. BD

Day 9 Friday, December 11, 2009
After breakfast we will transfer by coach to Vienna's International Airport for our return flights home. Sadly we say "Auf Wiedersehn" and leave the beautiful Austrian country side filled with spirit of the Christmas behind us, but we will return home with many new friends and unforgettable memories. B

Overnight flight from your home town in the USA to Frankfurt's International Airport in Germany. (We recommend that you possibly travel a day earlier and rest up before our tour, which departs mid-morning on Saturday, June 12, 2010. We will gladly make air, pre and post reservations for you at a hotel close to Frankfurt's Airport or in the city.

Day 1 Saturday, June 12, 2010
By mid-morning our tour will depart from Frankfurt's International Airport Terminal 2 (just outside the arrival hall building) with our luxury "BEER" Company coach. We will travel south on Germany's Autobahn up the Rhine River Valley and onto the scenic Black Forest highway. The Black Forest region in the Southwestern part of Germany is covered with fir trees and has picturesque villages famous for farmhouses with straw thatched roofs, woodcarvings and cuckoo clock factories. After a typical light lunch we will travel on to our final destination of the day, a romantic 4 star farm house Best Western hotel near Lake Titisee. Here we will have our Welcome Party, dinner and overnight stay for the next 2 nights. LD

Day 2 Sunday, June 13
After a lavish breakfast buffet, we will leisurely tour the scenic Black Forest area with stops at Triberg and Germany's "highest" waterfall, the Black Forest Clock Museum and the romantic Lake Titisee. Be sure to taste the famous Black Forest cake or perhaps purchase for a later snack, the delicious Black Forest Ham. This evening, dinner is on your own. Overnight in our local hotel. B

Day 3 Monday, June 14
Today we will leave for an all day trip into Switzerland with a stop at the magnificent Rhine Waterfalls on the Swiss border. We will travel further on to historic Stein am Rhein, a walled medieval Swiss town with colorful hand painted houses from the 14th Century. We will have plenty of time for exploring and for an optional lunch before travelling to our next destination, the Swiss Alpine village of Appenzell for our next 2 nights' stay. Dinner and overnight at Hotel Saentis on the historic town square. BD

Day 4 Tuesday, June 15
By mid-morning we will tour the Swiss Alpine countryside with an optional cable car trip to one of the nearby mountains and later visit a Swiss cheese making factory. We will return by early evening to Appenzell, so perhaps you will have a chance for more exploring and to have dinner on your own in one of the many local specialty restaurants. Overnight at Hotel Saentis. B

Day 5 Wednesday, June 16
After our breakfast buffet we will leave for an exciting all day trip through the Eastern Alps of Switzerland with a stop at the tiny principality of Liechtenstein. From there we travel over high mountain passes in the Austrian Alps with many scenic stops to our next destination, Fuessen in the Bavarian Alps. We will stay in this quaint city for the next 2 nights with dinner this evening at our 4 star "King Luitpold" hotel. BD

Day 6 Thursday, June 17
Today we will visit and tour the nearby King Ludwig's Fairytale Castle "Neuschwanstein" and have time later in the afternoon for shopping and exploring the quaint village of Fuessen. Dinner is optional tonight. B

Day 7 Friday, June 18, 2010
Today is the highlight of our tour. After an early breakfast, we will leave our Fuessen hotel for our first stop, the famous "WIES" Pilgrimage Church, an exquisite rococo structure and UNESCO World Heritage site. Our next stop will be the Abbey Etttal with its roman baroque domed cathedral near Oberammergau. From there we plan to check into our accommodations in the small village of Grasswang, just a few miles south of the Passion Play Village.
The highlight today will be attending this year's "Passion Play" in the village of Oberammergau. The Black Plague of 1632 miraculously stopped short of this Bavarian village and from thence forth, the town's people vowed to enact the passion of Jesus every ten years involving the local citizens in the elaborate all afternoon and evening performance. Our seats are reserved for lunch and dinner as well as for the Passion Play. We will return by coach late in the evening to our overnight stay in nearby Grasswang. BLD

Day 8 Saturday, June 19
After breakfast we will journey to Bavaria's capital of Munich. We will arrive there by noon and have plenty of time for last minute gift shopping in the city's center. In the evening we will have our farewell dinner with entertainment at Munich's famous Hofbrauhaus before retiring at our 4-star hotel near the Munich main railway station. BD

Day 9 Sunday, June 20
In the morning we will transfer everyone to Munich's International Airport for return flights home. Sadly we say "Auf Wiedersehn" and leave the beautiful Alpine countries behind us, but we will return home with lots of new friends and unforgettable memories. B
